Art Deco Week-end at the Airport

An Absolute Art Deco extravaganza using both the Pashley and Miles suites, foyer, gallery, marquee and outside stalls was held at the airport on 27th June, too late to be included in the July edition. The event was well attended and the weather was good. Everyone had a good time looking at the stalls of Art Deco “goodies” Pleasure flights were available in a de Havilland Dragon Rapide which was a popular passenger aircraft in the Art Deco era. And if you really wanted to feel that you were in that period and would like a flight in an open cockpit, the Belgian Stampe SV4C was available to take you on a tour of the local area or even undertake some aerobatics if you were feeling brave enough.
For those who are not familiar with the Stampe this is the Belgian equivalent of the De Havilland Tiger Moth.
