Firefighters on Three Peaks Challenge

Steve Gwynn and Chris Nash

Firefighters Steve Gwynn and Chris Nash will attempt the Three Peaks Challenge on 24th June.
They are both part time firefighters with West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service based at Burgess Hill. They will be joined by four other members of the Burgess Hill team and are supported logistically by the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The Three Peaks Challenge is held every year and participants ar required to climb the three highest mountains in the UK -- Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in Englan and Snowdon in Wales. Doesn’t sound much for fit young guys, but when you add this has to be completed in 24 hours including travel between locations it becomes a dounting task. It is about 500 miles road distance in total and then add the climb this is some challenge.
Steve and Chris are hoping to raise £1,500 for the charities Help for Heroes and The Fire Services Charity.
Sponsorship forms and collecting boxes are available at the Airport or go on line at:www.justgiving.com/Burgess-Hill-Firefighters or www.justgiving.com/station25firefighters

Operations Manager leaves for Gatwick

Keith Burridge

Operations Manager Keith Burridge has taken up a post with Gatwick Operations.
Keith came to Shoreham about 3 years ago from the same department at Gatwick. He said that he had enjoyed his position as Operations Manager at Shoreham but it was now time for a change.
He says very little has changed at Gatwick since he left but the challenge at Gatwick is obviously greater than Shoreham.
His last day at Shoreham was on the 7th May and Keith said he had made some good friends at Shoreham and he will miss them all.
We wish him well in his new post.
